Lake Pleasant RV Park

The engines start at 5 am.

Drivers head out of the RV park, away from their late-model RVs, past their tiny perfect plots of grass, around the little lake, up the hill and onto the freeway. Heading for their jobs in Seattle, Everett and other points along the road.

A few stay behind, mostly the retired men and women who spend their days sitting on the bench outside the laundromat chatting, or walking their little dogs, or driving up to the Safeway minutes away.

At dinner time they return. Men and women in scrubs, in fast-food uniforms, in civilian clothes. They cook their dinner. They turn on their laptops. They watch TV. They go to bed. The next morning they get up and do it all over again.

This is their life.

It's not my life.

But it's a life.
